Baltimore, Md. -- On November 6, Chesapeake defeated Hagerstown 90-54 to tipoff Maryland Juco Athletic Conference play began for women's basketball. One week later, Hagerstown lost in overtime to Howard 72-70.
Conference play begins to heat up tomorrow with three Maryland Juco games slated: Allegany at CCBC Catonsville, Prince George's at Frederick and Howard at Anne Arundel.
Prior to the season, the 15 conference head coaches voted on the 2019-2020 preseason poll, with CCBC Essex receiving seven first place votes to snag the top spot.
Montgomery, Chesapeake, CCBC Catonsville and Harford round out the top five.
Six teams are represented in spots 6-10.
Frederick is in at number six, narrowly beating out Cecil and Hagerstown who are tied for seventh. College of Southern Maryland, Howard an Anne Arundel finish up the top 10.
Prince George's missed out on the top 10 by just two points and are followed by Garrett who sits at 12. Allegany and Baltimore City came in at 13 and 14, respectively.
