ROSEDALE, Md. (May 14, 2015) – The National Junior College Athletic Association Tuesday announced its Men’s Lacrosse All-American teams and six student-athletes from the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex were among those selected.
Cole Rainier (Calverton School) – the freshman midfielder scored 44 goals and had 43 assists this season. He ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA for assists and collected a career-high six on April 23 against Northern Virginia C.C., while tallying four assists in five different games.
Will Manganiello (Penncrest) – a freshman attacker, scored 47 goals to rank No. 4 in the NJCAA and added 16 assists. He scored a career-high six goals on May 9 against Nassau C.C. in an NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship semifinal.
Tommy Brown (Boys’ Latin School) – a defensive specialist, the sophomore was often matched against the opponents most talented attacker. He had three caused turnovers on April 25 against Anne Arundel C.C.
Max Edelman (Middletown) – the Knights’ sophomore net minder finished a 7.37 goals against average and 66.5 save percentage, ranking No. 3 in the NJCAA in both categories. He had two 20-save games this season, April 3 against Harford C.C. and May 10 against Onondaga C.C. in the national championship.
Nick Mazza (Calverton School) – a sophomore midfielder, Mazza missed eight games with an injury, but still managed to have 17 goals and 20 assists in 10 games. His best game came on March 28 against Northern Virginia C.C. when he had eight points on five goals and three assists.
Sid Ewell (Carlisle) – the freshman defender improved each week and finished with 13 caused turnovers and six ground balls. He saved his best for when it mattered most, gathering five grounders and causing two turnovers in a national semifinal against Nassau C.C.
