CCBC Essex Draws No. 3 Seed in NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship

ROSEDALE, Md. – The National Junior College Athletic Association Sunday announced the seeding for the 2015 NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The Community College of Baltimore County, Essex earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Brookdale Community College this Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. in a quarterfinal game at CCBC Essex Stadium, located at 7201 Rossville Boulevard in Rosedale. 

The Knights (13-2), also ranked No. 3 in the country in the most recent NJCAA national poll, earned a spot in the championship by defeating Anne Arundel Community College 11-4 on April 25 to win its eighth consecutive Region XX title. It is the team’s sixth straight regional title under head coach Shawn Burke.
In the other quarterfinal match on Saturday, No. 4 Genesee Community College will host No. 5 Suffolk County Community College.
Onondaga Community College and Nassau Community College are the first and second seeds, respectively, therefore earning a first round bye. Onondaga will play the lowest remaining seed and Nassau the highest in the semifinal round.
The NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals and title games will be held at CCBC Essex Stadium. The semifinals will be played May 9 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and the championship game on May 10 at 1:00 p.m.
